KB – Connecting a User to a Kyocera TASKalfa Printer (Windows)

Prereqs:

• User knows printer model (e.g., TASKalfa 4054ci)

• User has valid Job Accounting ID

• Printer is on the network with a known IP address

Steps

1. Download Driver

   • Get the latest KX Driver (.exe) from Kyocera’s official site.

   • Run the installer → choose Express Install (or Custom → Add by IP if needed).

2. Check Port

   • In Devices & Printers → Printer Properties → Ports, ensure the printer uses a Standard TCP/IP Port with the correct IP (not WSD).

3. Configure Job Accounting

   • Go to Printer Properties → Preferences → Job tab → Job Accounting.

   • Select Use specific account ID → enter user’s ID.

   • Apply and save.

4. Test Printing

   • Print a test page from Printer Properties.

   • Confirm the job completes without “Illegal Account ID.”

5. Finalize

   • Set printer as default (if needed).

   • Configure duplex/tray defaults under Printing Preferences.
